Advancing Relational Ecologies of Human Becoming
“The future will be shaped not only by what we create, but by how we become.”
- Dr. Jessica Spring Weappa
Mothering Futures® is an Institute for Mother-Centered Leadership founded by Dr. Jessica Spring Weappa. It advances a growing recognition that maternal wellbeing and wisdom are not private concerns, but vital sources of leadership, learning, ethical life, economic life, cultural renewal, and systems change.
Grounded in more than a decade of doctoral and postdoctoral scholarship, sustained grassroots engagement with mothers and families, and three decades of experience cultivating meaningful intergenerational learning communities, the Institute brings scholarship into conversation with lived maternal knowledge. Its work explores what becomes possible when mothers are not merely supported in surviving, but recognized, resourced, and valued as essential contributors to human development, education, community life, economic life, and the flourishing of present and future generations.
Welcome. I'm so glad you're here.
Perhaps you've found your way here after attending a talk or workshop, hearing me on a podcast, discovering Narrative Neurosomatics™ or The Self Eloquence Method™, or simply following a question that has stayed with you.
However you arrived, I hope you'll discover ideas, practices, and conversations that offer new language for experiences you may have long sensed but never quite had words to describe. Together, we can explore new ways of understanding ourselves, one another, and the relational ecologies through which human beings become who we are.
Take your time. Wander where your curiosity leads. If these ideas speak to you, there are many ways to continue the conversation through one-to-one work, learning communities, retreats, consultations, and my writing on Substack. Whether you're here for personal reflection, academic inquiry, or simply to encounter a different way of thinking, I hope you'll feel at home here. I'm grateful our paths have crossed.
